Verneiia is the main tidal force of Widlan, creating the sole means of Widlan's unusual tides.

The surface of Widlan is hydrophillic and hydrophobic, and thus is not hydropermeable; meaning water cannot sink into the ground. Verneiia is about 3 miles above Widlan's surface, and thus is extremely effective in causing tides. Tides on Widlan will follow Verneiia's obital paths, and thus will roll forward endlessly over verneiial cycles.
